Codemasters created and released the racing simulator video game Dirt 3 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows. The first game in the series without the Colin McRae name, was published on May 24, 2011. In June 2017, Dirt 4, a follow-up, was made available.

DiRT 3 Details

Codemasters released a “Complete Edition” of the game in 2012. The Complete Edition includes the game and its related DLC in one convenient package and includes extra tracks and vehicles. In North America on March 20 and March 9 respectively, it was made available.

Feral Interactive’s The Full Edition for Mac OS X was made available on January 29, 2015. Early in 2017, the Full Edition was taken off of Steam, possibly because the car licenses were about to expire.

In the main game mode, “Dirt Tour,” players compete in a variety of events to collect reputation points and the attention of sponsors, who then give them new cars.

Colin McRae: Dirt 2’s flashbacks are back and can be utilized up to five times on any difficulty, but they cost reputation points to use. Several racing disciplines from Colin McRae: Dirt 2 are featured in the game, but it also adds new modes and disciplines.
